If your site is going to rank for competitive keywords and start to bring in a large volume of organic traffic, then it’s likely you’re going to have to do some link-building.
Backlinks play an important part in the ranking process, and the more links you have from other authority sites in your niche, the more likely your website is to show up in the top positions in the search engine results pages.
So, how can you go about building a good link profile?
Give People a Reason to Link to You
This seems obvious, but many websites fail right here at the first hurdle. If someone’s going to go out of their way to link to you, then you’ve got to give them a pretty good reason to do so, and the way to do this is through high-quality content.
SEO blogging is a great way to build up your content so that those looking for a link will want to stop to see your articles. Remember to do your research and tell your story to build memorable content that others will be happy to link in their article.
People have lots of choices about which websites they link to, so take that choice away by creating standout content that people can’t ignore. When you’re answering the questions that people have in an entertaining, thorough way, then you’re going to find links start growing organically.
Outsource if you Need to
Building links can be time-consuming, and it takes a consistent effort to build a well-rounded profile. There are lots of people who just don’t have time to be running their business and building links, so it’s not a problem if you outsource this work.
Even for marketing companies who focus on different areas of marketing, you can outsource your SEO to a company like clickintelligence.co in order to focus on the things you do best.
If you want to get links built quickly from authoritative sites, then it can really help to take advantage of another business’s connections and let them do the work for you.
Do Some Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is a nice way to build your network of contacts in your niche and write some articles for other websites.
This is something that works well for all parties. You get a backlink to expose a different audience to your work, and the owner of the website gets a great blog for free.
However, people are rightly protective about what they put on their sites, so you’ve got to be able to demonstrate that you’re going to provide them with value. If you’re already doing a great job on your own website, then this is much easier.
Grow Your Personal Brand
If you can establish yourself as the go-to person in your industry, then people are going to go out of their way to link to you and benefit from your authority.
For example, digital marketing is a hugely competitive niche, but virtually everyone in it will talk about Neil Patel. So, when people want to back up what they’re saying about SEO, one of the first places they will think to link to is Neil Patel’s website.
When you position your brand as a leader in your industry, people will use your authority to back up what they’re saying, and the links start flowing in.
