Do you get stuck in business and have difficulty discerning how to move forward or grow it? I know I have. Do you want to know a little secret? We ALL have been there or are there now. I want to help you with this very thing. I want to discuss 7 ways you can grow your online business today.
First Place To Start
The first place to start is to review or analyze your current business. You know you must be online all over the place and have a good presence, but today I am focusing more on several specific ways to help you grow.
Ask yourself these 5 questions:
- Have clients asked for other services or products?
- Do you feel you are in the right niche?
- Are the current services you offer working for you?
- Has your coach (if you have one) made suggestions you are still holding back on? If so, why are you holding back?
- Is your pricing on your products and packages fair, too low, or too high?
Competitive Research
The next thing you should do, if you have not done it in over six months, is competitive research. It is necessary to keep an eye on competitors, not simply because they are competitors, but also to see if any of them have seen something in the market you may have missed, not to mention to again see where the gap is in their market. Where you see a gap, or a place they are not reaching or serving, is a great place for you to serve, as it will be needed.
Re-evaluate Your Free Offer
Once you have conducted your competitive research again, then it’s time to re-evaluate your free offer(s). Are you currently getting steady sign-ups for it? I understand that it will not usually be in droves but more like trickles. Yet, you need to know if you are still getting those trickles.
If not, it may be time to consider another free offer. Whether that be a free session with you, a checklist, or another item, it’s time to make a new one. This is important because you may not be reaching the right audience. It is imperative to reach the audience who needs your services or products.
Increase Pricing & Increase Revenue
Next, consider the pricing and packages you offer for your clients. Are they fair, too low, or too high? When you did your competitive research, this may have been revealed. If not, you should do some additional research, so you know you have good pricing. Also, consider what your clients have said when signing up for your services.
This is crucial for your business to be able to grow today. Knowing these basic things helps you understand and make wise decisions and choices moving forward. It may be time to increase your pricing. This alone will help you grow as long as you have a continued clientele and continue to attract consistent clients.
Add New Products or Services
One other thing to consider is adding new products and/or services. I consider this frequently. If I’m at a growth point and need a little help to boost me over the next goal, then adding services or products can do this for me.
Depending on your current services, you can consider adding a service you know how to do, or if trying to remain hands-off with your clients, then consider what skills your team has that can be added to your services. Speak with your team and ask if they do not mind and if they have the bandwidth to do it. If they do not then consider hiring another team member to do this service.
You can also begin to add digital products for your clients. There are many types of digital products today. Some of these may include:
- Contracts
- Courses or Quick Classes
- Intake Forms
- Checklists related to certain software
- Planners
Plus tons more are limited only by your imagination. A good place to begin is by asking your clients about their needs.
Strategic Partnerships
Strategic partnerships can be the difference between barely surviving and thriving in business today. Forming strategic partnerships can be crucial.
Strategic Partnership – “an arrangement between two companies or organizations to help each other or work together, to make it easier for each of them to achieve the things they want to achieve:
A way of breaking into the market would be to form a strategic partnership with a large player that is already successful in the sector.”–Cambridge Dictionary
Find a strategic partner that could benefit from your services/products as much as you can benefit from theirs. That could be your audience or your service offerings, and the same may be true of them. When I had a strategic partner, it worked because I provided mentoring and coaching while also recommending their learning platform to all of my clients. It was a great fit.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Search engine optimization is another important factor for all your online brand identities on every platform, especially for your website. Every page should have your keywords filled out and meta descriptions (short descriptions Google uses) so that all search engines can find you when someone searches for you.
Search engine optimization (SEO) improves a website’s visibility in search engine results. Which means users are more likely to find the business when they’re looking for information about its products and services.

A great way to help you get to the top of search engines is through blogging. If you follow me, you know I like to scream this from the mountaintops! <wink> Writing blogs and utilizing the free Yoast SEO plugin has helped me to gain over 60% of my traffic from SEO.
A Bonus
A final way I will mention (not included in your 7 ways) for your online business to grow is to check your attitude or mindset. It is important to know whether you are currently struggling with some emotions, circumstances, or other things that can and will affect your business and mindset. Even losing a client can cause us to have mindset struggles.

Remember to plug into the thing(s) that motivate and inspire you to keep moving forward. For me, that is my faith, scripture, and prayer. I also love to listen to music to inspire and encourage me. For you, that could be dancing, talking with a friend, meditation, or some other thing. Use those tools regularly so you do not allow your mindset to slip but keep yourself sharp to allow growth in your business today. It is important to have healthy habits that can help accelerate your business.
The Last Word
There are so many more ways I could have included; however, I think these 7 take priority when you want to grow your business. These, coupled with a good online presence and making appearances on podcasts, webinars, and online magazines, can boost you out to the forefront of the crowd and allow you to get noticed.
To Your Continued Success, My Friend!
